Norm Richards Very hard landing. (-682.82 fpm) especially in a Beaver.. The max is -600 but will give this one to you. Your airspeed was too slow - under 70kts is too slow to be able to sustain altitude or flare on landing. On your landing, your speed was way too slow to hold the airplane in the air.. you sank like a rock and hence the heavy landing rate. Have to keep the airspeed up @ 70kts - then cut throtte as soon as you touch down. If you keep your airspeed at the 70kts or so + or - then you'll have enough airspeed to flare on touchdown. Give it a shot and this will yield much better landing rates! Norm
