Tour Releases 2021-2022

Posted by Norm Richards on 21/10/05

NOTAM: Many of the previous MFC tours for FSX/P3D can also be flown in MSFS2020 (for the most part) and conversely the MSFS tours can be flown in FSX/P3D with possibly of airport ICAO modifications. Some specific locations might be harder to work out than others but all are should be doable in any sim with some innovation. (Alternate airports are accepted in MSFS in lieu of RTMM locations in FSX/P3D scenery).

NOTAM-MFC Tour Info

Posted by Norm Richards on 21/10/05

NOTAM KACARS/Tour Bids:

NOTAM KACARS:

Latest version of Cigar Box (ACARS) is v1.1.4.0. (It is available in the Downloads section).

FSUIPC (at least the free version installed) for your sim version must be installed in order for Cigar Box to be able to connect to your sim (or sim(s). (Set Cigar Box to run as administrator).

How to Bid/Fly/file a Tour Flight

Pilots are reminded of the proper procedure for loading a Tour Flight: / Flying / Completing tour/and activating the tour legs:

1. From the list of tours that appear on the Active tour page: (via the Tour Center tab), choose the tour you want to fly. (Best go in order as each tour (so far), is a continuation of the previous tour).

2. On that tour, the 1st leg will open for you. Select your flight - "bid" on it.

3. Press "fly leg" and follow the prompt. This creates the bid for that flight leg which is assigned to your flight leg in the Cigar Box/acars system.

4. Log into Cigar Box and go to Main > settings then remove the check mark on Search by flight number. (This enables direct bid loading into Cigar Box).

5. In Cigar Box - Press the "Get Flight Data" button and the correct flight as per your bid should directly load and populate all the fields for the flight leg details in Cigar Box.

6. When you have your sim ready, start your flight in Cigar Box and fly the leg in your sim. When done, in cigar box select “stop” flight, then “File Pirep” which will file the pirep for that tour leg on the MFC website. Go to the MFC Website and you should see your pirep on the list in the “Recent Reports”.   Close Cigar Box. (Closing Cigar Box clears the bid just flown out of the cue).

7. When you are ready to fly the next leg, go to the MSFS site the tour you are flying and the next leg will be open for you to fly (bid) and so forth until all the legs of that tour have been flown/completed.

 8. After all the legs of a tour have been flown; the tour will “complete” and the completing pilot will receive the corresponding tour award.

Notes:

Landing Rate Target:

1. The only restriction at MFC for tour flights, as well as in any other flight, is achieving an -600fpm (Feet Per Min) or under landing rate on each landing. (Forces exceeding -600fpm can cause damage to the aircraft or worse).

No Jets:

2. We fly prop aircraft in these parts so no jet propulsion aircraft.

Changing Aircraft:

3. A fitting or appropriate aircraft is usually recommended for each tour. This would be an appropriate aircraft for the landings in the tour legs of a tour but there is great variety of planes that you can alternatively fly. Although a main aircraft must be chosen when you sign up on an excursion, you can optionally select a different aircraft on any leg if you wish from within Cigar Box.("Aircraft Information" area on the PIREP Tab) in the "Select Aircraft ".
