MFC0017 TF Docks & Cabin inspections Petersburg to Juneau

April has arrived marking the return of Float Flying. While the Northern routes remain frozen, the Southern routes are beginning to see the Spring thaw. 63A (Roundtree Seaplane Facility) is the Seaplane Base associated with the St. Petersburg PAPG and float operations are now open out of this base all the way northward up to Juneau.

This area has been beautifully rendered with glacial textures to the east and ocean and seaway inlets to the southwest and northwest. Again this area has often remained a rarely traversed and underappreciated region so we are exploring it again but this time from the amphibian bush plane perspective which is very low and slow and to/from the water.= and we are inspecting the Docks as well as the cabins between St. Petersburg up to Juneau.

Aircraft: Amphibian or Float single prop: IE: C185, DHC2, DHC3, Goose or Mallard, (Fix wing must be a single prop-non-turbo). (Actually only the first and last legs require an amphibian: legs 2 through 16 can be 100% floater models as all are water moorings on those legs).  For the helo pilots out there, you require a floater Helos non-military. The ice is out and time for a fun trip to the water moorings between Petersburg and Juneau. Again we will be exploring the area and not just the Sea bases so watch for cabins and many other POI in this excursion.
