The "X" Factor: A Misty Flying Club Adventure:
Tour Creation, Itinerary and Flight plans by Brad Allen.
This tour takes the pilot through a series of RTMM scenery locations that were designed and created by one of our former members, Xavier Carre'. They showcase a very unique style of design and location selections by the "X" man that will challenge the aviator and highlight some of the region’s most beautiful terrain areas. One of the most challenging plan routes will take the pilot from Khutze River Lodge to Victory Valley. This is one of the most beautiful yet challenging routes to be offered where you'll first zig-zag your way through a maze of creeks, streams, rivers and fjords until the trip ends up passing through several narrow gorges and ends up inside a secluded mountainous valley with steep peaks on all sides.
Once you arrive at your destinations, take the time to look around as you'll notice a fine attention to detail on object placement, sloping airstrips, photo real blended textures and other touches that make these spots some of RTMM's best. Be sure to take the time and install the included sounds and effects that are included in several of these scenery archives to help bring the scenery to life. Dex Thomas spent a lot of time on many of these locations adding sounds and AI watercraft.
NOTAM: The pilot will visit both water and land based destinations so this tour will call for an Amphibious aircraft choice. Flight Plans were created with a low altitude profile on most of the legs (1000' to 3000' for the most part and were tested out using autopilot flight following the plan route on GPS. However, the pilot in command should always monitor each part of the trip closely as some of the route profiles may place the aircraft in a position that is dangerously close to surrounding terrain.
Aircraft: This is another low and slow adventure trip so the aircraft used must be a single engine fixed wing standard prop Amphibian* or Heli amphibian as landing locations vary from land to water moorings. The fixed winger recommended is a lighter single prop: IE: PA18 Super Cub, C172, C182, C185, C206/207, DHC2, DHC3 etc. Even the J3 Cub or ICON A5 Ultralight can handle this trip, that is, IF the weather is cooperative.
This excursion has 18 interesting legs – direct: There are no mandatory stop-overs.
Tour Flight Leg Rating Conditions: “6A0”:
6=Max landing rate is -600fpm,
A=Autopilot and/or GPS use permitted: (but not recommended).
0-# of Stop-overs in the flight leg*. Nil in this excursion.
