Description: | MFC0036 Approaching Olympic National Park
On the previous excursion we were “Island Hopping” from Vancouver Island and exploring the San Juan Islands, the Gulf Islands, Central Island, the Discovery Islands and North Island of BC.
We now depart from Port Hardy and will make new travels heading southeastward down the BC mainland coast and beyond: We are USA bound into Washington State and eventually we’ll make it to Fairchild WA which sets up some exploration in Olympic National Park.
Now be advised up front that there is not too much custom RTMM scenery pieces after we cross into “Trump-Ville” but none the less, there is much to see along the way as we weave through the west coast our way to Fairchild.
This is the prime Pacific Northwest and there are many ORBX enhancements in this natural beauty of Washington State from the PNW region to many ORBX airports in this area. If you have any of this ORBX scenery make sure you have it ON for as we will be seeing most of it!
Additionally there are a few RTMM/MFC pilots who live in this area so this excursion is tribute to them as we visit their home airports, (won’t disclose pilots locations but they will recognize the airports visited as we progress. We are definitely going outside the normal RTMM operating area but this PWN area is very similar terrain and conditions to that of our normal operating area with more gentle or moderate weather.
This is a very scenic mainland and islands hopping excursion with plenty of scenic add-ons from ORBX add-ons (PNW) and ORBX Airports also FSAddon’s Victoria+ and Vancouver+ to RTMM add-ons namely: The Vancouver Island Project North (VIP) by Brad Allen and the BC Lighthouses which add even more POI. (See scenery requirements document).
This excursion has 19 legs and has mix of land/water mooring so an amphibian will be required. Each flight leg has one or two stop-overs (intermediate stops) and we will visit most of the POI in this PNW coverage area.
Aircraft: AMPHIBIAN fixed wing single engine (non-turbo) or amphibious helicopter.
Tour Flight Leg Rating Conditions: “6A1 or 6A2”: 6=Max landing rate is -600fpm, A=Autopilot and/or GPS use permitted: (but not recommended). 1 or 2-# of Stop-overs in the flight leg*. Each leg of this trip has 1 or 2 stop-overs. Watch the flight legs closely for the stop-over locations.
