MFC0042 Rockies-2 - Monument Valley-Eagle Co Regl CO to Sedona AZ
In this mountain chain there are many scenic landmarks, one being
Monument Valley, a red-sand desert region on the Arizona-Utah border which is known for the towering sandstone buttes of
Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park. We will explore this area and many other scenic landmarks winding through the landscapes
from Eagle Co Regional Airport in Colorado southward to Sedona AZ.
This series continues as we slowly work back to RTMM land. As we explore we’ll visit the Canyons and the Rocky Mountain chain:
Full of natural scenic value as well as plenty of eye candy and in this trip Monument Valley.
We are just in “FTX Global” but for airports, the FTX freeware global airports package again contain most of the airports that
we are going to cover in this and following excursions. There is a couple of ORBX Pays but the default airports are adequate).
-------------------------------------
All landings in this excursion are on fairly nice runways. There one stop in each leg, and there are only nine slightly longer
legs to this excursion as we make our way from County Regional Airport located in Eagle Colorado to Sedona Arizona through a very scenic landscape.
-----------------------------------------------
Since these legs have a bit more distance and variable terrain, a larger twin aircraft might be a nicer ride: IE: AC50, BE18, BT67, C-47, DC-3,
DHC6 even OR even bigger singles IE: C208, DHC2 Beaver etc. might fit the bill.
I have set this up to show the de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter (Turboprop) which I plan to use: It’s a nice heavier duty aircraft
twin engine powered but, as always, you can use any prop aircraft or helicopter that resembles an aircraft in the fleet!
(Floats or amphibians are not necessary in this excursion!!)
----------------------------------------------------
Tour Flight Leg Rating Conditions: “6A1”
6=Max landing rate is -600fpm,
A=Autopilot and/or GPS use permitted: (but not recommended).
