Description:

MFC0043 Rockies-3
The Grand Canyon

Sedona AZ to McCarran Intl NV (KSEZ-KLAS)

One of the world's natural wonders, the iconic Grand Canyon draws awed visitors perched at the edge of its towering cliffs.

The Grand Canyon continues to be a landmark that draws several millions of visitors every year.  The iconic rock matter found
there dates back to approximately two billion years, and the nearly 300 miles of land hold around 70 different species of animals.

Touring the Grand Canyon is an experience like none other. Now imagine flying over the expansive canyons in a small plane or
helicopter? It will give you a new perspective on one of the most amazing natural wonders in the world. This excursion explores
the ins and outs of the Grand Canyon which is a natural wonder.

We are “FTX Global” and for airport scenery, the FTX freeware global airports package again provides a few of the airports that
we are going to cover in this and following excursions. There is also a couple of ORBX Pays but the default airports are adequate).
This trip focuses on travelling through the canyons.
-------------------------------------
All landings in this excursion are on fairly nice land runways. There are 18 weaving legs in this trip: 13 of which have one mid-stop
and 5 legs that are direct (the legs have no mid-stops).

This is a very low and slow trip to really enjoy the scenery so were back to a single engine smaller aircraft which still have enough
power to climb and to be able to navigate the twists and turns/up and downs of the canyons: IE: Cessna 170, 172, 182, 185 etc.

For the helicopter pilots out there a smaller helicopter will provide the ability to navigate this excursion.
-----------------------------------------------
I have set this up to show the bush C185 which I plan to use. It is a light aircraft, has power and very is maneuverable – which we’ll
need travelling low and slow through the canyons.

(Floats or amphibians are not necessary in this excursion!!)
----------------------------------------------------
Tour Flight Leg Rating Conditions: “6A1” or “6A0”
6=Max landing rate is -600fpm,
A=Autopilot and/or GPS use permitted: (but not recommended).
1 (or 0) = # of Stop-overs in the flight leg*. (13 legs have one stop and 5 legs have no stops).

*Watch the flight leg details/tour doc closely for the stop-over locations in each leg.
