MFC0045 Rockies-5- Lake Tahoe CA to Redding Mun CA (KTVL-KRDD)

We continue our mountain journey (#5) in Northern California from Lake Tahoe CA east to the Nevada border,
then northward through the Plumas and Lassen National Forests National Forest and directly over Lassen Peak
(Mount Lassen).

Again we’ll be crossing rugged terrain in this trip so a heavier duty aircraft is in order as we navigate
through river valleys, canyons and mountains.

All landings in this excursion are again nice land runways. There are 12 weaving legs in this trip.

This is a very high and low and slow trip but at times will need a very powerful aircraft. (If you fly that low!
as I tend to).

Recommendation is a twin engine aircraft standard or turbo prop which has enough power to quickly climb and a
lso to navigate the twists and turns IE: AC500, Beech 18, Twotter DHC6, or a Twin Cessna perhaps. I might try
the “twotter” in this trip but feel free to fly the aircraft of your choosing.

For the helicopter pilots out there a more rugged helicopter might provide a better ability to navigate this
excursion rather than a lighter one. But again whatever works for you.
