MFS0003 Whitehorse to Ketchikan-Alaska Glacier Series

This trip is a glacier exploration trip from Whitehorse Yukon, Canada via some of the rugged and scenic glaciers, rivers and lakes which surround the Tongass areas of Alaska. Nine legs later we will reach our destination of Ketchikan Alaska.

This is intended to be a low level and scenic flight excursion for MSFS but also works in FSX/P3D.  You’ll need your hands on that stick to fly this rugged glacier terrain!   

This excursion has 09 legs: 584 nm.

Aircraft: Any single or multi prop will do. Standard or Turbo. Will try the BN2 for this trip. Helo pilots: A light helo is a nice fly. (MSFS Bell 47 or H135).

SIM: MSFS (FSUIPC 7.0.x required) but also works for FSX/P3D (with their corresponding freeware versions of FSUIPC).

Time/Weather: (Dawn or Dusk are the nicest times to fly and can yield very pretty and interesting lighting effects) but if possible, live time and live Weather. If not possible set your own time/weather parameters and enjoy the scenery.

Tour download for this MFS0003 excursion is available and contains flight plans (.pln). Additionally sky-vector maps links for each leg have been prepared for those seeking a navigational challenge in negotiating the route by way of dead reckoning and marking position/landmarks.
 
Please feel free to stop at, touch and go or fly-by any mid-airport locations along the route of the flight legs (outlined in the Cigar Box notes). There are some great spots along the way!   I hope you thoroughly enjoy “flying the terrain” in this excursion.
